YumDeal LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the YumDeal mobile application and the website at yumdeal.net (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name via Firebase Authentication. You may also sign in with Google, in which case we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.

Contact form: If you reach out through our Contact Us form, we collect your name, email address, and message content.

Saved addresses: Addresses you save for quick access are stored in our database. You can delete saved addresses at any time.

b) Information Collected Automatically

Location data: With your permission, we access your device's GPS coordinates to show nearby restaurant deals. You can deny location access and manually enter an address instead. We do not track your location in the background.

Usage events: We log anonymous interaction events (e.g., address searches, deal taps, platform selections, deal reports) to improve the Service. Events are tied to a random session identifier, not to your personal identity.

Device tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token to send you deal alerts. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

Guest sessions: If you use the app without creating an account, we generate an anonymous session identifier (HMAC-based) to enable features like favorites and browsing history. This identifier does not contain any personally identifiable information.

c) Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect payment information, health data, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, browsing history outside the Service, or any data from children under 13.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Display restaurant deals near your location
• Save your favorites, search history, and addresses
• Send push notification deal alerts (with your consent)
• Respond to your support inquiries
• Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the Service
• Detect and prevent abuse or misuse of the Service

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication and Cloud Messaging (Google) — for account management and push notifications
• Google Maps Platform — for address autocomplete and geocoding
• Microsoft Azure — for cloud hosting and data storage
• Snowflake — for data warehousing (aggregated, non-personal data only)
• Vercel — for web hosting
• Affiliate networks (Impact, Awin, Rakuten) — for partner offer links. Clicking an affiliate link may set cookies on the partner's website per their own privacy policy

These services may collect information as described in their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

• With service providers who assist in operating the Service (listed above), under contractual obligations to protect your data
• If required by law, legal process, or governmental request
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of YumDeal, our users, or the public

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Anonymous event data is retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes. Guest session data is retained for up to 12 months of inactivity. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Choices and Rights

• Location: You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings
• Push notifications: You can disable notifications in your device settings
• Account deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
• Favorites and history: You can clear your history and remove favorites directly in the app
• Saved addresses: You can delete saved addresses at any time in the app

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are in the European Economic Area, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us to exercise any applicable rights.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
